The Monsignor Benson Series
In my books Death without Fear and Living with Soul, I quote extensively from this prolific source. Monsignor Benson also leaves us powerful, cast-iron proof of the survival of death in these six amazing books. Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson, son of the Archbishop of Canterbury, converted to Catholicism and quickly rose in its ranks. He became friends with psychic medium Anthony Borgia in 1909, five years before passing into the spirit world. Between 1949 and 1957, he dictated six books through his friend. Four of them are accounts of life on the soul plane, and two examine how wrong the Church’s teachings are, as he saw them with fresh eyes from the soul plane. The very fact that these six books even exist is ample proof of Benson’s survival of death, and his delightful manner of speaking adds greatly to their charm. Sadly, these brilliant accounts of the afterlife didn’t survive the demise of the spiritualism movement in the 1950s.
However, although these invaluable books are long out-of-print, they are so important in dispelling fear of death that I've formatted them into convenient letter-sized 8.5 x 11 inch PDFs for easy printing, which I can email to you for printing and reading off-line.
Life in the World Unseen
The first script gives an account of his passing and his subsequent travels through various parts of spirit lands. He deals at great length with a number of important and interesting facts and facets of spirit life. For example, he mentions the highest realms and the lowest, and actually visits them to describe what he saw and what took place in both regions.
He recounts how, at the close of his earthly life, he was met by a former colleague named Edwin, and taken by him to the spirit world, where his home awaited him, a counterpart of his house on earth. After a brief rest he commenced his explorations, under Edwin’s guidance, of the land of his new life. During the course of their rambles, they meet a young girl of great charm, named Ruth, also a newcomer to the spirit world, who joins them, and the three become closely associated in work and pleasure. The PDF has 113 tightly-packed pages.More Life in the Unseen World
In this follow-up book, Benson describes how his principal occupation is to meet people at their dissolution, and conduct them into the spirit world. Working with him in this are his friends, Edwin and Ruth. In this script, recorded in 1951, Benson recounts how Ruth and he, but without Edwin on this occasion, embarked upon one of their visits to earth for “escort duty,” in this instance of a young lad of eighteen years. Instead, however, of passing him into the care of other hands, as usually takes place, they invite him to stay with them in their home (where he first awakens to his new life), and thereafter, when fully recovered, they set out upon escort duty of another kind: through the realms in which they live, to see the wonders and meet some of the people. The PDF has 70 pages of tightly spaced text.Heaven and Earth
This book describes more of life on the soul plane, including how he and Ruth went about adding a new wing to his home so that he could host larger meetings. There is an excellent description of how things are “thought” into being. Benson also talks about color and beauty, and how much more vibrant things are over there. He also talks about the importance of service on both sides of the veil, and how the soul plane serves the Earth plane when tens of thousands of us die in war or natural disaster and must be cared for over there.Facts
This book deviates from descriptions of spirit life, and examines certain theological beliefs with reference to a number of texts from the New Testament. When we pass to the spirit world, we need to readjust our views upon many things in the light of newly gained knowledge and altered perspective. In fact, our very mode of being undergoes a huge change. Having grown up in Victorian England and joined the Catholic priesthood, Benson was no exception, and really had to make enormous adjustments, as he’d preached that all communications from the spirit world were dealings with the devil! He admitted that the series of six books was to atone for his "fire and brimstone" books and sermons.More Light
This work builds upon "Facts," with particular reference to the hypocrisy and emptiness of the Catholic creeds and to certain of the miracles so wrongly narrated in the New Testament. This book completely refutes the authority of the Church to speak on spiritual matters and should be a "must-read" for any recovering Catholic. Here and Hereafter
This last book by Benson was completed in 1957, and answers some of the huge demand from readers for specific answers to their questions about life on the soul plane, responding to readers’ entreaties for “light, more light.”
The very fact that these six books even exist is ample proof of Benson's survival of death.
